Greetings. Thanks for taking time to check out my new website. I appreciate your willingness to take a look! I retired a year ago from the MGH Institute of Health Professions, where I served as Provost and VP for Academic Affairs for fourteen great years. (If you want to know more about my experience at the Institute, here is a nice summary article). That experience, combined with my previous roles as a clinical leader at Henry Ford Hospital (I'm a speech-language pathologist), a department chair at Wayne State University in Detroit, and president of a large national professional association (ASHA) have brought me to the point where I am pleased to launch this new consulting role.
On this site, which will continue to expand, I hope to connect with health professions leaders across disciplines, with a focus on three areas: professional advisement services, interprofessional education and practice, and strategic innovation projects. I have spent the past year rethinking my own experience and background, developing a consultative mindset, connecting with a few admirable experts, and thinking about my next chapter. My goal is to help equip leaders, particularly in the graduate and post-graduate education space with advice, tools, and resources. In this blog I will continue to expand on these resources, with particular attention to the needs of future health professionals (all disciplines) in working in our complex health and rehabilitation environments. To Be Continued........
